happy 6th birthday e & j

Yesterday the boys received some birthday mail from "Grandma Kath".
{She is my friend Scott's mom that always sends the boys stickers in the mail. As they opened it they kept saying "Holy cow!" and "She's nice!"
Today was the big Birthday Day!
Jabin was up first and spotted the presents, so he went and got Evan up! :)
That started our day. They played with their new toys, we had French Toast for breakfast, then headed to the Mall of America for a day of fun. {Greg took the day off so we could ALL go!!}

{bummper card}

{a train ride}

{a hot-air balloon ride}

We met Sponge Bob,rode a ton of rides, played at Lego land and had some cotton candy.

We went to Chili's for dinner on the way home. I just happen to have two "6" birthday candles with so I
let our server know about the Birthday Boys and
asked her
to put them on their dessert. Then Greg & I sang to them. :)

Our fun day ended with a movie night at home.
Happy Birthday Boys!
{we LOVE you!}

two cute cards

i've had a chance to make some cards while the boys have been at grandma kc's. i can't post all of them because i'm mailing a bunch out to people that look at my blog.
i just made evan & jabin's birthday cards! {even a few days early! go me!} i used some cosmo cricket paper, su! kraft card stock, chocolate chip ink and the set: look who's turning from the new catalog. i found some really cool 6's that are like mirrors, so you can see yourself! they went perfect with the set and i love how the cards turned out!

here is a "what i like to do":
when i make a sandwich for the boys i always add a heart!

Thank You {Note Cards}

My Dad needed a door prize for a speaking event and asked me to make {another} set of note cards for him.
I used a pack of 20 Note Cards w/envelopes, added squares of designer series paper, stamped the sayings, packaged them in a cello bag, tied the bag with ribbon, added the tag and here is the finished project... I wish I could go to the speaking event and win the prize!! I need to stamp a few thank you cards to send out!
Have a great rest of the weekend!!

12 x 12 organized {for now}

I am often asked how I store my 12x12 paper. I just organized all my 12x12 card stock, paper and Simply Scrappin' Kits on Sunday evening so I thought I would share what I did...
I went with a simple {low cost} label system. Post-It notes, tape and a black sharpie marker. {how's that for economical??}
First, I sorted out my Non-Stampin' Up! papers and made some tabs for them. {Thomas, Monkey, Birthday, etc.} I also made tabs for Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall. I made a tab for *used on past projects, because I wanted to keep that paper handy. I've used it on b-day invitations for the boys and I might want to use it for a scrapbook page. To divide the paper I taped the "tab" to an extra pc of 12x12 cardboard.
For my Stampin' Up! paper when I open it, I only make a cut at the top of the pack and keep the papers in the packaging. That way I can keep all the smaller pcs of that paper in that same pack and it keeps it all together! :) I made a tab for the paper Name and taped it to the 12x12 pc of cardboard that comes WITH the paper pack.

I sorted the solid 12x12 card stock, made tabs for them and taped the tab to a pc of matching 12x12 card stock. {So if I made a tab for Kraft 12x12, I taped the tab to a pc of Kraft card stock.}

For the Simply Scrappin' Kits I only open the top of the package also, so I can keep all the contents together. I made a tab for each kit {by name} and taped the tab to the Simply Scrappin' page that comes WITH each kit.

I hope you {get} how I organized my papers! :)

I know you'll ask about the red baskets so here you go...
I use red "shopping" baskets that I bought at a Scrapbooking store that went out of business. The funny part is I bought 4 12x12 paper racks and when I was checking out she asked if I wanted anything else... so I asked about the shopping baskets! She sold me the 12 baskets & the stand for $5. I have used them a lot! I can't use the racks I bought because
a) I don't have room for them in my current stamp room.
and
b) I had one in my room once and my paper started to fade because of the sun.

So for now I use the red shopping baskets. :)

There you go.
I hope seeing my {low cost} simple way to organize my papers & kits will help you to organize your own stash of papers.

I'd LOVE to see what you come up with!

andy :)

e & j: happy craft day

Today I was looking for some birthday ideas for the boys on the Lakeshore Learning site. {while talking to tina!} Evan spotted these faces and they made me think of the Bigz Scallop Envelope die!!

Evan picked out some paper, I started cutting out shapes, found some crafting supplies & glue and the next thing I knew they were making faces! :) The faces full of pom-poms are "gum balls" stuck to the face.

Jabin {aka: fantastic 4} made these and took the pictures...

{a monkey}

Evan {aka: electro-man} made these and took the picture...

Here is a little video we made...

e & j's scrapbooking project

Evan & Jabin have been working on their own scrapbook pages this summer. I have been printing some extra photos for them to use. They have even inspired me!
It is fun to watch them work. They are SO proud of their pages and LOVE to show them off. So if you are ever visiting I'm sure they would let you look!! {Just don't ask to see mine! :)}

In June I took them to Archiver's for the first time. Both of them stood in there with their mouths dropped open! {I wish I had my camera for that moment!} They were so excited to find a few goodies to use on their pages. We had Gramma Kathy with and ate a picnic lunch in the parking lot! What fun! :)
Well I better up-load some more pictures to print!! We have had lots going on around here!!
